It was a big week for Chris Lane. Chris has won the 2013 Bassmaster Elite Series Plano Championship Chase. This victory guarantees Chris’ spot in the 2014 Bassmaster Classic, which will be held on Lake Guntersville.
Chris brought in 82 pounds 4 ounces of smallmouth bass during his four days of competition. He had a 5-7 margin of victory! His total for Sunday was 19-11, with his biggest catch of the day being a 4 ½ pound bass. On days 1, 2 and 3 Chris brought in big bass of 5-12, 5-12 and 5-11.
This victory is an extremely exciting time for Chris. His passion and determination helped him achieve this great victory in the season.
After the win Chris mentioned his mentality about noon on Sunday. “I got that killer instinct. I got focused in. I said, “I need to catch some big ones, I need to catch a good one.’ That’s when I caught my biggest fish of the day.”
We are thrilled about this win and looking forward to the Bassmaster Classic right here in our hometown of Guntersville!
The winning baits were a shad-shaped worm, Luck E Strike Fast Lane tube, Luck E Strike jerkbait and spinnerbait. Lane has been working with Luck E Strike on a line of soft plastics which will include a shad-shaped worm. “I threw every pack of those type of worms I could buy up there and in New York two weeks ago,” Lane said. “Next week I will sit down and figure out which qualities in the bait need to be used in the Fast Lane series from Luck E Strike and come up with a winner.”
