Chris has won the 2014 Bassmaster Elite Series St. John’s River event. This victory guarantees Chris’ spot in the 2015 Bassmaster Classic, which will be held on Lake Hartwell in South Carolina.
Chris brought in 90 pounds, 13 ounces bass during his four days of competition. He had a 14 pound margin of victory! On Day 2 Chris weighed his largest-ever one day catch of 37 pounds 9 ounces.
“To win here in Florida is something special for me. This win is for my family who got up at 3 o’clock and drove all the way from Guntersville,” Lane said.
Lane credited a Luck-E-Strike ribbontail worm in black-and-blue, and a prototype soft stickbait being developed by Luck-E-Strike as well as a homemade jig. He rigged both with a 1/8-ounce Reins weight.

- Lane also threw a Texas-rigged 7″ soft stickbait that’s being developed by Luck E Strike. He caught a 9-pounder on day 2 on it, while the majority of his other big fish came on the jig.
